CDMA version of Moto G hit the U.S. in January. Best Buy has confirmed that it has sold the edition of Verizon smartphone budget of its retail stores, as the store has inventory, you can select one. And it's cheap too. $ 100 off contract, Moto G Verizon is cheaper than the equivalent in both GSM devices and much slower, smaller. They said they are going to introduce VoLTE so some phones may lack CDMA but CDMA is not being shut down any time soon. You will not get a phone until after New Year's Day, This is a great phone for developers, and too, since this lets them test on a decent KitKat phone for just $100 without a contract, but we have a feeling it will be worth the wait.
This phone is $80 cheaper than the GSM variant, but unless there's some unpublished awesome SIM-unlocked capability that's not present in any other Verizon-CDMA-prepaid phone, it's also a lot less functional. It will only work on Verizon's CDMA 3G, which is a whole heck of a lot slower than GSM HSPA or HSPA+. It also can't be activated on a post-paid Verizon account until you've used 6 months of expensive prepaid Verizon service.
